George's Creek Church

George’s Creek Baptist Church was established in 1885. In the early years, the church shared, with other churches, a pastor and meeting space in various buildings and open areas. In 1905, the congregation reorganized and constructed a tabernacle at the cemetery in 1908. Later in 1915, the church moved into the newly built sanctuary that is standing today.

Although records for certain time periods are scarce, the known history of George’s Creek Baptist Church indicated more than a century of dedicated worship. Even in times without regular pastors, the congregation maintained a strong Sunday School program. The membershop has changed along with the area population, but the church has continued to be a spiritual and social center for the community it has served.

The church now serves as a venue to host gatherings such as funeral services, memorials, family reunions. The sanctuary has a capacity of approximately 60 people.

Annual Homecoming – 11am October 13, 2024

The 54th Annual Homecoming Service will be on October 13, 2024.  A program celebrating the history of the church will begin at 11:00am followed by a potluck lunch. Following lunch and fellowship, we will have a good, old-fashioned gospel singing.
